Rest! Who needs it?
Did you know that all of the benefits from all that hard work happens while your resting. So many people go so hard in this town while not paying attention to the recovery aspect. Weekend warriors here train at the same level as pro athletes and yet don’t have the same level of recovery. So, next time you go out for that hard ride, run, or swim. Or hit the gym hard for a workout. Take the time to recover. Get some sleep, hydrate, eat well (as exercise isn’t an excuse to eat a giant meal of crap food), maybe some icing and some foam rolling. That will go a long way to recovery and overall increase in your fitness levels.
